Corporate Escapee Turned Entrepreneur
I’m a former Corporate Communications and PR Leader turned entrepreneur. I spent over ten years building a career in PR, internal communications, executive communications and organizational effectiveness. I thought that was the path I was supposed to take. I was good at the work. I was a strategic leader who could see the bigger picture and also do the tactical work. I enjoyed the work that I did but I wasn’t happy in the confines of the corporate structure. Corporate politics and constantly having to jump through hoops to get things accomplished after so many years had me questioning everything.
About ten years ago, I finally made the leap to changing everything and pursuing a life based on my values and what mattered most to me…adventure, freedom, fulfillment, exploring, living on purpose, and serving the world! I was seeking joy and wanted to build a life around the things I loved. After two years of figuring out how to do that, I moved from Minneapolis to the Pacific Northwest in pursuit of a new life.
I started a photography business in Minneapolis which was the entrepreneurial catalyst to my new home on the West Coast. I began pursuing building that business in the PNW as well as exploring – hiking, adventuring, and exploring craft beer. As I did that, my heart led me to write about my adventures and share it with the world. My time and attention to that opened up a path that I wasn’t expecting. Quickly I found myself building a brand around my adventures, craft beer and promoting craft-beer brewers and the industry as a whole. It also led me helping other small business owners build their brands/presence online with social-media consulting and management. As I continued to ‘listen’ to this whisper, I starting working in craft beer which led me to meeting my now husband. Soon after meeting, we started planning to open a craft-beer bar focused on community in Vancouver, Wa. Final Draft Taphouse is now almost five years old!

We can’t wait until we’ve “gotten” it altogether. The time to start is NOW, with what you have inside you, you are enough, just as you are! We must move forward and be willing to take imperfect, messy action. To be successful in life and in business, we must “give-a-shit,” have true empathy for others and where they are currently and where they want to go. I love strategizing with you as your guide to help you lead with YOU, re-discover yourself and your story, help you know your story is where you start connecting with others to build your brand, your business and your life path! We build businesses based on where we’ve been, what we’ve learned, what we’ve overcome, and how we can help otheres do that same. I offer one-on-one strategy sessions currently and hope to create some group offerings soon!
